Description: The Trinity Home was a unique and challenging project, designed to accommodate three generations of a family within what appears to be a single-unit home. Each apartment had specific needs: the grandfather’s unit required a wheelchair ramp, a large bedroom, and accessible guest lounges; the father’s unit included open areas for children to play and accommodation for a visiting daughter; and the newly married son’s unit needed privacy with easy access to the father’s apartment. The design creatively addressed the spatial complexity by stacking two apartments one above the other, with the third unit partially above and below. The outer garden and basement served as common areas, fostering connection among the families. The design also incorporated semi-open spaces, small courtyards, and a brick jali facade, enhancing insulation, ventilation, and visual appeal. The wide road frontage and shallow plot depth required a carefully crafted elevation, making this project a successful blend of functional, aesthetic, and intergenerational living.
