Description: The MS Residence in Faisalabad was designed for a mid-career professional with a small nuclear family, aligning with the client’s vision of a simple yet regionally sensitive single-family home. A key requirement was to create flexible social spaces for hosting guests and providing areas for children to play. In response, we designed a series of interconnected spaces—lounges and dining areas—that open outward into a verandah and an internal courtyard, creating a layered arrangement that offers the necessary privacy within their cultural context. The internal courtyard connects the private spaces above and brings the family together near the dining and kitchen areas, fostering a sense of closeness. A large skylight covers the courtyard, connecting the family to the vertical axis and casting beautiful light throughout the house. The use of indigenous brick adds a humble, earthy tone that resonates with the local culture.
