Description: The Bamboo House, the architect’s personal residence, is a synthesis of Tropical Regionalism from Sri Lanka, Tectonic Expressionism inspired by Carlo Scarpa, and the indigenous courtyard typology of old Lahore City. The design offers a humble yet rich spatial experience, deeply connected to nature, with abundant greenery and hanging gardens at every level. The meticulous and conscious use of light, as it travels through the spaces throughout the day and across seasons, creates captivating shadows that enhance the ambiance. This two-unit house effortlessly meets the functional needs of the family while exuding an aura of sacredness.
