Maqbool Masjid, located on a large corporation’s factory premises, is a mosque designed to serve both the factory workers and the surrounding community. Drawing inspiration from iconic Mughal masterpieces like the Wazir Khan Mosque and Turkish domes, the design centers on a striking architectural gesture: a large dome that appears to hover above the ground, free of any supporting columns at its edge. This innovative feature is achieved through a complex RCC structure, meticulously crafted with a focus on symmetry, proportion, and scale. The design addresses the challenge of creating a deep connection with historical and cultural roots while looking forward, embodying the principles of critical regionalism. The result is an aesthetic language that resonates with both history and modern innovation, offering a spiritually and architecturally moving experience.
